A New Chapter of Your Life

The summer is over, students of local primary schools have already started a week ago and tomorrow is your first step towards your secondary school career. The children who last year were one year younger, are now the seniors while you are just a mere freshman. You are starting a new chapter of your life but what do you have to expect during those adolescent years?


 Let's start with the fact that these years are very important and life changing. You will have to start off with making new friends, being open for new and unfamiliar things and to adapt to your new environment. But the most problematic and probably the toughest challenge to overcome, is to actually do something to earn high grades. If you are afraid of going to mess up, not being smart enough or simply not fit in. Then I will give you a few tips so you can start off with a great impression to students and teachers in your secondary school career!
#1. Be friendly, polite and open for new things. 


#2. Meet new people. Do not stick on the same people you are already familiar with. Challenge yourself and start a conversation with someone 
#3. Do your best in all classes. Make your homework, ask questions if you do not understand what the teachers are trying to say but at the same time, do not try to be the teacher's pet.
#4. To achieve good grades, you have to put time and effort in it. This will make college a lot easier!
#5. Do not be shy, be confident and yourself. Being insecure will not help you to go anywhere.
#6. Be respectful to everyone, treat everyone like you want to be treated and even to the ones you do not like.
#7. Get organized. Keep your work together, take notes of important things and have a planner.
#8. Sleep on time. A good night's sleep makes it possible that you can concentrate.
#9. Join an interesting club or sport if your school offers them. You will be surprised of the amount of people that share the same interest.
#10. You only have one chance to show your first impression, make good use of it!
